[2020 SNU ISP] COVID-19 Updates (as of March 5, 2020)
Dear prospective SNU ISP students,
In response to the recent spread of COVID-19, universities must ensure
the timely actions for stabilizing academic operations with reference to
Academic Operation Guidelines against COVID-19 Infection, published by Ministry
of Education. Therefore, SNU addressed the changes in academic calendar,
academic policies and procedures recently to protect the student’s right to
study free of concern.
- SNU Notice:
COVID-19 is not the first case for the outbreak of infectious diseases
in both South Korea and SNU. We had experienced ‘Severe Acute Respiratory
Syndrome(SARS)’ in 2002 and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome(MERS) in 2012.
Taking advantage of those experiences, SNU community is successfully securing
students’ safety against COVID-19.
Of course, apart from this SNU’s strong efforts, SNU is well aware of
your worries about applying at this time. However, given that SARS and MERS had
been contained in the summer season, we expect the situation of the COVID-19 outbreak
also will be contained in a couple of months. SNU IPS would like to ask your
kind cooperation and patience regarding the upcoming summer program. SNU ISP
will proceed as scheduled for now. We will notify you immediately if any
changes are made to the ISP schedule or the program is canceled.
If you need any further inquiries or assistance regarding participation
in SNU ISP, please do not hesitate to contact SNU OIA(summer@snu.ac.kr).
Best,
Seoul National University Office of International Affairs
